MJM Charlie Panama Straw Hat in Natural Color

Genuine Handwoven Panama Hat designed in Italy with a nice 4 color brim band - this hat is made with 2mm wide twisted straw and looks very airy - a perfect hat for a hot summer day with a little breeze to keep your head cool... you get however, not as much SPF sun protection for the ice and the face as the design is more air than straw.

The sweat band is made of cotton, the edge bands are made of grosgrain weave in nylon.

These Panama hats are bright, extra light and breathable and can be worn with advantage as an accessory to summer's light, bright clothing.

The density and finesse of the weave and the time it takes to weave a complete hat out of the torquilla straw characterize its quality - this hat is an economically attractive version using slightly wider straw, and a much looser and airier weave.

In the early 20th century, Panama hats became popular as summer and beach accessories due to their uncomplicated shape and breathability.

Our Panama hats are made from straw sheets woven in Ecuador and designed and sewn in Italy.
